Monitoring that protects playing time

Minutes on the pitch as the measure
GPS systems measure brilliantly how a player runs: speed, distance, sprints. What decides a season is how often he is on the pitch at all. Six weeks out erase more development than any speed chart ever shows. Gearstack starts one layer earlier, with the data that announces availability: sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, training load. Manage those and you protect training time, match time, minutes on the ball.
Load monitoring against injury risk
Quantify loads, apply thresholds, increase availability. Session RPE times duration gives every player a comparable load, no devices needed. The dashboard tracks the acute-to-chronic ratio and flags load spikes, the measurable risk factor for overuse complaints in youth football.
Daily readiness before training
Every morning each player gets a readiness state against his own baseline: sleep, HRV and resting heart rate where a watch is worn, the daily check-in where not. The squad view takes thirty seconds before training. The conspicuous players sit on top, the rest is a green line.
Recovery and return to play
After illness, injury or a heavy block the baseline shows when sleep, HRV and resting heart rate carry load again. The coach sees states and trends, never diagnoses, and ramps minutes up on evidence instead of gut feeling.
Development in one athletic score
Gearstack compares the last four weeks with the four before across HRV trend, running efficiency and resting heart rate, weighted 45/40/15. One score per player, 50 means unchanged. The squad view counts who progressed and who regressed, the numbers a winter review or board meeting asks for. The formula is documented in the open.
Player profiles and reports
Every player has a profile with load history, readiness trend and development curve, and shares only what he consents to. Documented development per player for parent meetings, squad reports for the board, a season record that survives coaching changes.
Costs for a club
No vests to buy, no antennas to set up, no operator on the sideline. The players’ own phones and watches do the measuring; RPE monitoring covers the whole squad from day one, and every supported sports watch sharpens the picture automatically. Licensing for clubs follows the S4E project.
Consent per player
Every player decides what he shares and can revoke access at any time. For minors, parental consent is part of the setup, and every access is logged. Honest data comes from players who know a poor value leads to a lighter session.
Where the club dashboard stands
The club dashboard is planned as S4E, a research project of Gearstack j.d.o.o. with independent scientific validation and pilot clubs in Croatia; funding has been applied for and the start is 2027 at the earliest. It is not on sale before 2028. Clubs interested in a later rollout can register their interest by e-mail; players can already use Gearstack Health today.
